Arts & Entertainment

Nestled amidst the Bear River Valley, Evanston packs a mighty punch when it comes to authentic culture and creativity.  Whether you're an art enthusiast, a music lover, or simply someone looking to be captivated by the local charm and talent, Evanston has something special in store for you.

Watch & Listen

Who says impressive talent is exclusive to big cities? We take pride in our local artisans, who are the creative lifeblood of our community.

You can find live music from our local talent at many of our area’s bars and restaurants, including Kate’s and Sud’s Brothers Brewery. If you’re visiting during the summer months, be sure to swing by Depot Square to find live music every Thursday.

Entertainment comes to life right before your eyes at the Strand Theatre. This newly remolded entertainment venue, located on Main Street, hosts an array of performances throughout the year. If the movies are more your style, Aspen Cinemas is a great place to catch your favorite film while you’re in town.

Learn & Immerse

Want to dive into our wild western roots? Step into the past as you wander through the halls of the Uinta County Museum, where artifacts and exhibits beautifully showcase the heritage and culture of our region. From Native American artifacts to pioneer relics, you'll uncover the stories that shaped this rugged land. Right around the corner, you’ll find the Chinese Joss House Museum, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of Chinese immigrants who played a vital role in Evanston's history. Wander through the ornate temple and learn about their customs and traditions.

Celebrate

We love to go all out on our celebrations, and you’re invited to join us!

Saddle up and get ready for Evanston's annual Cowboy Days celebration. Every year, the town comes alive with the spirit of the Wild West as locals and visitors gather for this exciting event. Complete with live country music, hay bale throwing, a cornhole tournament, a demolition derby, and all the western treats you can imagine–this 4-day celebration has been going for 87 years and shows no signs of stopping.  Keep the festivities going by immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Evanston Bluegrass Festival. This highly anticipated event takes place right on the heels of Cowboy Days, ensuring that the lively spirit of the Wild West continues to echo through the town. As the rodeo dust settles, the sounds of banjos, fiddles, and mandolins fill the air, captivating music lovers from far and wide. The Evanston Bluegrass Festival brings together talented musicians, both local and from afar, who strum, pick, and pluck their way into the hearts of the audience. From jam sessions that invite everyone to participate to captivating performances on the festival's main stage, this event offers a unique blend of cowboy culture and foot-stomping bluegrass melodies.

But the fun doesn’t stop there; Cinco de Mayo and the Celtic Fest are both big events that bring the community together throughout the year through celebration, music, food, and more.
